MADISONVILLE, La. (AP) — A Louisiana woman and her teen-aged daughter were killed after a three-car wreck near Madisonville.

Louisiana State Police say 43-year-old Brandi Landwehr, of Madisonville, died at the scene of the accident Friday. Her daughter, 16-year-old Hannah Landwehr, died later at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond.

A preliminary investigation shows Hannah Landwehr was driving south on Louisiana 1085, with her mother in the passenger seat.

State Police say she stopped at a stop sign but turned left onto the highway without yielding to oncoming traffic.

A pickup driven by Aaron Coyne, of Ponchatoula, struck the driver’s side door, pushing Landwehr’s car across the eastbound lane and shoulder before coming to rest in a ditch. The truck sideswiped another car but neither Coyne nor the other driverwas hurt.
