BATON ROUGE, La. (KLFY) – State Police Troop A are investigating a crash that took the life of a 33-year old Baton Rouge man Thursday morning.
Troopers responded to the scene just before 5:00 a.m. on LA 30 south of Ben Hur Road in East Baton Rouge Parish.
An initial investigation revealed that David Breland III was traveling northbound on LA 30 when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a culvert and overturn.
Trooper Bryan Lee says Breland’s vehicle then burst into flames with him still inside.
Breland was pronounced dead by the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office.
Trooper Lee says that due to the severity of the crash seat belt usage is unknown.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
