SATSUMA, La. (AP) – State police say a 24-year-old man has died after his vehicle hit a horse standing on a highway in Livingston Parish.

Police say in a statement that the crash happened Friday morning around 1 a.m.

Joshua Marange of Denham Springs was traveling on U.S. Highway 190 when his vehicle struck the horse. His vehicle then went off the road and hit a tree.

He died as a result of his injuries.
