WINNSBORO, La. – (KTVE) Officials are investigating after a child brought food that was suspected to be laced with marijuana to school.

According to Superintendent Dr. Lanny Johnson, an 11-year-old girl brought 2 rice crispy treats to Winnsboro Elementary School that were possibly laced with marijuana. 

The child was breaking pieces off and giving them to other students.  

Johnson says that from what they can tell, none of the students were high or sick. 

The treats are being tested to see if they were laced with marijuana.

They will wait for the test results to get back before they proceed with any disciplinary action. 

The Winnsboro Police Department is investigating the incident.
