METAIRIE, La.(WWL) — Teams, their coaches, and players are always looking for sources of inspiration to help them navigate the long and brutal NFL season — inspiration that can also lend perspective to the daily battles they endure.

The Saints seem to have found inspiration in Jarrius Robertson, and this week, they paid it forward by surprising the 14-year-old on Good Morning America with a contract making him their official hype man/social media guru/codependent leading up to their matchup with Kansas City on Sunday.

His star has grown so bright, his personality so effervescent, he’s become known the world over by just one name: Jarrius.

Robertson suffers from biliary atresia, a chronic liver disease that affects his physical growth. He received a liver transplant when he was one-year-old, and now he’s on the waiting list in need of another.

Despite spending much of his youth in and out of the hospital, Robertson has maintained a remarkable zeal for life. His energy is contagious, as is his smile.

His whirlwind tour included a stop in New York City, as well as several national and local media appearances. Wednesday, he took a few minutes to stop off in the Saints’ media room to make sure everyone was hard at work.
