LAFAYETTE, La. (Amanda McElfresh/The Advertiser)- Attorneys for Lafayette Parish School System administrators have filed another motion seeking to dismiss a federal lawsuit.

In the lawsuit, former LPSS employee Azadeh Yazdi alleges that officials rigged the Schools of Choice lottery and denied some services to English as a Second Language students. Yazdi also contends she was subject to harassment and mistreatment when she told officials about her concerns, The Daily Advertiser reported.

The motion was filed Monday by attorneys for Annette Samec, Barbara Pippin, Superintendent Donald Aguillard, Robin Olivier and Tia LeBrun, according to court records.

“The individual defendants, along with LPSB (Lafayette Parish School Board), all strenuously deny and denounce these defamatory claims,” the motion stated. “Such scandalous claims were made purely to cast LPSS and the individual defendants in a negative public light.”
