ASSUMPTION PARISH, LA – Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies searched Friday night for a man wanted on rape charges, who took them on a chase through the swamp.
Deputies said 28 year old Trey Rentrop led deputies on a pursuit earlier in the Bayou L’Ourse area.
Deputies were able to track Rentrop to the Donner area with the assistance of Terrebonne deputies before losing him in the swamp.
Rentrop has two active warrants, the most recent being for rape.
The Sheriff’s Office said additional charges are pending following Friday’s incident.
