NEW ORLEANS (WWLTV) — Police are investigating a homicide in the 800 block of Bourbon Street.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, one person is deceased, one is in custody. The men were roommates, police said.
Around 9 a.m., officers responded to a wellness check in the 800 block of Bourbon Street. When police got to the apartment, no one responded inside. After several attempts, police called in the SWAT team, said Lt. Jimmie Turner.
Once SWAT was able to get into the apartment, officers found one man dead and another man inside the apartment, Turner said.
Bourbon Street was closed from Dumaine Street to Orleans Street, and St. Ann Street was closed from Dauphine Street to Royal Street, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
