SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Police are investigating a shooting in north Shreveport that left four teens wounded by gunfire Friday evening.

According to SPD Cpl. Marcus Hines, it happened just before 5 p.m. A group of male teens was walking near the 2100 block of Grimmet Drive near the Northwood II Apartments when gunshots rang out. All of the victims were found in different locations after running from the scene.

SPD says two of the teens are 15-years-old, one is 16-years-old, and the fourth is 17-years-old. The 15-year- old was found on Navajo Trail and his wounds were treated by SPD officer. Two of the victims were shot in the arm, one in the leg and the other in the hip. All four teens were taken to Oschner LSU Health Shreveport with non-life-threatening.

Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins and Police Chief Ben Raymond arrived at the scene of the shooting to support officers with the incident.

“That’s just something the Mayor does,” said Hines.

“He’s very supportive of law enforcement. He comes out a scenes a lot of times. We also have the chief of police here as well as the deputy chief. So again, a show of support.”

Cpl. Marcus Hines says the shooting may have stemmed from a fight that happened earlier in the week. Investigators are talking to witnesses and reviewing surveillance video in hopes of finding a suspect.
