Stolen car investigation leads to counterfeit money, drug arrests

TERREBONNE PARISH, (La.) Three people are accused of having illegal drugs and counterfeit money.

One woman is accused of taking a car.


Sheriff’s deputies say they responded to a call about a vehicle allegedly stolen by Lacey Richard on Sunday in Houma.

An anonymous tip led authorities to the car’s location, a hotel in Houma, on Thursday.

Deputies say they located the room that Richard was in; she was there with Jasmine Hendrix and Joshua Hyatt.

Hyatt tried to escape from authorities but was caught by a K-9 officer.

Deputies say while searching the hotel room and stolen vehicle, they found $9,250.00 in counterfeit money, marijuana, crystal meth, Suboxone, a digital scale, a large knife, a police baton, drug paraphernalia among other things.

Richard was also arrested on warrants from Lafourche Parish.

Deputies say more arrests are pending in the case.
