UPDATE: According to the sheriff’s office, after an autopsy for Jimmie Lee Johnson the cause of death has been ruled an accidental drowning.

CHAUVIN, La. (KLFY)—Terrebonne Parish deputies find a body in the Bayou Chauvin waters, authorities said.

Sheriff Jerry Larpenter tells News 10 that deputies found the body on the morning of August 3 after receiving a 911 call.

Authorities found the body near Anacin St. and Bayouside Dr. in Chauvin Louisiana.

Little Caillou First Responders and Acadian Ambulance responded to the call with deputies.

Larpenter told News 10, the body was positively identified as Jimmie Lee Johnson, 51, of Chauvin Louisiana.

A spokesperson with the sheriff’s office said there was no trauma to Johnson’s body and foul play is not suspected.

An autopsy had been scheduled August 4.
