In commemoration of its 70th Anniversary, Butcher Air Conditioning announced its collector’s-edition Mardi Gras Beads to be thrown only at the Le Festival de Mardi Gras a’ Lafayette Soundstage located at Cajun Field.

“In the spirit of the Mardi Gras season, we wanted to mark our 70 years of business in Acadiana with a special memento for our clients, customers and Mardi Gras revelers,” said Mr. Bobby Butcher, at Butcher Air Conditioning.

Acadiana is familiar with the Butcher Air Conditioning operation, originally located in downtown Lafayette in 1949, and co-founded by Lawrence Butcher, grand-father to third-generation owner and operator, Bobby Butcher.  Notably, older generation Acadiana residents fondly recall the original red and white Butcher Air Conditioning 1951 Ford service truck, still occasionally driven today by Bobby’s retired father, Mr. Tom Butcher.  With the help of local Youngsville store owner, Craig Spadoni of Bead Busters & Float Rentals, the truck was replicated and placed as a prominent spot on this year’s commemorative Mardi Gras beads.

As a third-year co-sponsor of the Le Festival de Mardi Gras a’ Lafayette Cajun Field soundstage, Butcher Air Conditioning stepped in during the recent down-turn of the local economy by offering financial support to help fund and keep the free-concerts, additional event security and parade barricades used to help keep families safe during their Mardi Gras experience.

“As a participant in Lafayette’s Mardi Gras season each year, I’m excited to be able to offer this special token of appreciation to lucky Acadiana revelers this year at the Cajun Field Soundstage.  And who knows, if this year’s beads become the ‘Coolest Beads of the Season’, maybe we’ll continue to offer other versions in years to follow,” said Bobby Butcher.
