The Florida Highway Patrol have identified children killed Thursday as Joel Cloud and Jeremiah Warren, both 14, 13-year-old Cara Descant, 10-year-old Briena Descant, and 9-year-old Cierra Bordelan. All were from Marksville.

“They were on a church trip so it’s unbelievable that something like this could have happened,” Evan Courtney, a friend of the victims said.

Courtney says his 13-year-old friend was involved in the crash and came to church looking for answers.
Even after getting confirmation of five children being killed, Evan is still in disbelief.

“I didn’t believe. It’s like, I couldn’t believe that something like that could happen so quick,” he said.

When Loraine Courtney learned of crash, she said she called one of the parents to offer support, and prayed for them through text.

“Lord, I ask you to dispatch your healing angels and your healing powers in your son Jesus name I pray,” the text said.

In total,  there were nine children and three women in the van at the time of the crash.
We’re unsure if the condition of the surviving children but we have learned one of the women on board suffered broken ribs and a collarbone, another woman was pregnant.
Doctors have been able to keep the unborn baby stabilized.
