CINCINNATI (MEDIA GENERAL) – An Ohio boy is quickly becoming an internet sensation for his dance off with a Cincinnati police officer.

In a video posted to Facebook on May 29, 9-year-old Ellis Weaver is seen dancing with Officer Brandon Fields during the Taste of Cincinnati, an annual event held in the city every Memorial Day weekend.

Ellis starts off displaying his dance moves before Officer Fields takes his turn. Ellis then jumps back in with the Running Man.

The friendly competition continues for about 30 seconds more before ending with the two exchanging a high five. Officer Fields pats Ellis on the head and then raises the boy’s hand up, as if declaring him the winner.

Ellis’ uncle, Russell Whitney, posted the video in hopes it helps spread the message of hope and that not all cops are bad.

“We accomplish more together!” he wrote on a post about the video, echoing those thoughts during a phone interview with Media General on Wednesday.

Whitney says his nephew now knows firsthand that police officers are human, too, and know how to have fun.

Whitney says the officer has contacted the family to thank them for posting the video and sharing the positivity of the encounter.

He said his nephew and Officer Fields are now officially pen pals, a project he plans to help Ellis with.

And what does Ellis think of his newfound internet fame? Whitney says he’s super excited about all the attention but just wants to make a positive impact on his generation.
