LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Imagine walking from Detroit to Lansing. That’s quite the distance to walk.

Now, imagine walking that distance with someone on your back.

That is what 16 year old Hunter Gandee did with his brother Braden.

Nine year old Braden suffers from Cerebral Palsy and to raise awareness of this disease, Hunter carried his brother on his back for 111 miles.

These brothers started this adventure called the “Cerebral Palsy Swagger,” last Wednesday in Southeast Michigan hitting cities along the way like Chelsea and Mason.

Hunter and Braden Gandee made their way to the Cooley Law School Stadium to take a break before they finished their journey to the Capitol building to cross the finish line.

The energy and excitement surrounded the stadium with the St. Johns dance team cheering on the Gandee brothers, the Haslett drum line and even Project Unify were there to support Hunter and Braden.

Moments later, the brothers and a whole sea of people continued their stride to the front steps of the Capitol building to finish their 111 mile hike.

People gathered from schools and communities all around the area to help them soak in this inspirational moment.

This is Hunter and Braden’s third and final walk as Hunter is beginning his senior year in high school.

But for now, these are just two brothers trying to make a difference.
