According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 31 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Cordell Johnson, Sr., 37, 975 Highway 318, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on March 11, 2015 at 11:42 am on a warrant for disturbing the peace (fighting). Johnson turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City. A deputy transported Johnson to the parish jail for booking. He was later released on a $500 bond.

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:

Jude Franklin, 36, 545 Tiger Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on March 11, 2015 at 6:11pm for the following offenses:

– Possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute

– Possession of Schedule IV (Klonopin)

– Possession of Schedule II (Percocet) with intent to distribute

– Possession of drug paraphernalia

– Transactions involving drug proceed

– Possession of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of a juvenile

Jacob Hidalgo, 32, 302 Malcolm Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on March 11, 2015 at 6:11pm for possession of Schedule II (Percocet) and possession of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of a juvenile

Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed a no knock search warrant at 545 Tiger Lane in Verdunville. During the search, detectives located a bottle containing 95 Percocet pills, Klonopin pills, several bags of methamphetamine, and $246 dollars cash. Hidalgo was also found to be in possession of several Percocet pills. The cash located during the search is believed to be derived from illicit drug sales. Two juveniles (12 and 16 years of age) were present at the residence at the time of the investigation. Franklin and Hidalgo were transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

The Franklin Police Department responded to 8 complaints over the past 24 hours and made the following arrest:

3/11/15 @ 1:21 PM, Chevelle Francis, 25, of Pickett Ln., Franklin, LA, was arrested and charged with Theft of Goods and Possession of Schedule IV (Tramadol). Francis was processed and held on a $3500 bond.

John Shane Champagne, age 26, 21732 Long Leaf Road, Kaplan, LA, issuing worthless checks.

Nicholas Charles Fontenot, age 35, 1484 Hwy. 104, Opelousas, LA, criminal mischief.

Kari Danielle Ganson, age 23, 227 Oak St., Melville, LA, cyberstalking.
