St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office
February 12, 2015
According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 52 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Ora Garner, 62, 305 Lawrence St, Morgan City LA, was arrested on February 11, 2015 at 11:07am on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of operating a vehicle without a driver’s license and improper lane usage. Garner presented herself to the parish jail for a drug court sanction. A booking deputy discovered the active warrant and arrested Garner. No bail is set.
David Thompson, 56, 100 Corinne St, Lafayette LA, was arrested on February 11, 2015 at 11:56am on charges of improper lane usage and driving while intoxicated. A deputy assigned to patrol the Franklin area responded to a report of a reckless driver. The deputy stopped the driver of the vehicle, identified as Thompson, on Highway 90W in Iberia Parish for committing a traffic infraction. The driver ultimately consented to a chemical test for intoxication. Thompson provided a blood alcohol concentration breath sample of .238g%. Thompson was arrested and transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.
Hodges Matthews, 36, 105 Texas St, Lafayette LA, was arrested on February 11, 2015 at 12:16pm on charges of simple assault, 4 counts of resisting an officer and battery of a police officer. Deputies responded to an assault that occurred on Friendship Alley in Amelia. It was learned that a male subject, later identified as Matthews, threatened an insurance salesman earlier in the day. As deputies approached Matthews on Friendship Alley, he fled. Matthews was later detained and admitted to threatening the individual. He was arrested and transported to the Law Enforcement Center in Centerville. Bail is set at $50,000.
Ricky Bradford, 44, 5424 North Bayou Black Dr, Gibson LA, was arrested on February 11, 2015 at 2:12pm for possession of contraband inside of a penal institution. A corrections officer at the parish jail found an inmate, Bradford, to be in possession of a cell phone in a dormitory. Bradford remains incarcerated at the parish jail.
Kachif Wallace, 26, 180 Village Ln, Amelia LA, was arrested on February 11, 2015 at 3:31pm for a warrant on the charge of simple assault. Wallace turned himself into the Sheriff’s Office in Franklin after learning of the active warrant. The warrants stems from an investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Office on January 28, 2015. During that investigation it was learned that Wallace threatened to do bodily harm to someone in the Amelia area.
A warrants division deputy arrested Wallace and transported him to the parish jail. He was later released on a $250 bond.
Leslie Matthews, 40, 178 Friendship Alley, Amelia LA, was arrested on February 11, 2015 at 4:32pm on charges of domestic abuse battery, resisting an officer and simple criminal damage to property. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area responded to a report of a disturbance on Friendship Alley. Contact was made with the victim, who stated that Matthews struck her in the face after during an argument. While being arrested, Matthews resisted orders by dragging her feet, sitting down and refusing to move multiple times. During the transport to the parish jail, Matthews began to kick the rear window of the patrol vehicle causing the window frame to be bent out of place. No bail is set.
Devin Landry, 21, 993 Chitimacha Trl, Baldwin LA, was arrested on February 11, 2015 at 8:56pm for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance in Baldwin. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Landry and a female victim were involved in an argument when Landry struck the female in the face, stomach and head. Landry was arrested and transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.
Kevin Robertson, 50, 1220 Cypremort Rd, Jeanerette LA, was arrested on February 11, 2015 at 9:17pm for disturbing the peace and resisting an officer. A deputy patrolling the Jeanerette area responded to a report of a disturbance on Cypremort Rd in Jeanerette. The deputy learned that Robertson was harassing multiple individuals in the area. As the deputy approached Robertson, he fled into a nearby wooded area. Robertson attempted to conceal himself in a pile of brush. He was later located, arrested and transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.
Bill Olsen, 54, 807 Tall Timbers, Patterson LA, was arrested on February 12, 2015 at 3:39am for disturbing the peace by intoxication. A deputy working the Amelia area responded to a call at a local business. Contact was made with Olsen who was to be escorted off the property. Olsen raised his voice multiple times and continued to yell at workers. Olsen was arrested and transported to the parish jail. He was later released on a summons to appear in court on May 12, 2015.
Franklin Police Department responded to 8 complaints over the past 24 hours and made the following arrests:
2/11/15 @ 6:54 PM, Herald Paul, 29, of Seventh St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court for Criminal Neglect of Family. Paul was processed and held on $17,845.00 bond.
