An Acadiana veteran from Breaux Bridge received a few free home repairs courtesy of the ‘Veterans Helping Veterans’ program  Saturday morning.

Joseph Felix, was given a new kitchen floor and frame for his front door. The organization says they believe safety is a priority for those who help serve and sacrifice for the United States.

The program was created by the ‘Smile God is Here’ organization. It has been around since 2010, but just recently started to repair the homes of veterans. Organizers of the group hope to gain more volunteers everyday.
