American Idol finalist Mackenzie Bourg’s weekend at home started with a warm welcome from family, friends and the community at the Lafayette Regional Airport.

Then a radio interview bright and early Saturday morning…

Before lunch, the Lafayette native made his way to the tigue for some Louisiana Ragin Cajun baseball.

Bourg sang the national anthem and threw out the first pitch.

Later in the afternoon, Bourg stopped by his old stomping grounds, St. Thomas More Catholic High School where the local celebrity squeezed a hoop session into his busy schedule.

And what’s a Louisiana Saturday night without a parade and live music

Fans lined up along Vermilion and Jefferson Streets to cheer on and congratulate the Lafayette native who captured the heart of america with his voice.

And that voice was heard at parc international as Mackenzie Bourg wrapped up his homecoming visit with a concert downtown
