This year marks the 6th anniversary for prominent Lafayette attorney Glenn Armentor and his “Pay it Forward Scholarship of Excellence Awards”.
Tuesday, Armentor, surrounded by his wife Dana, his staff, the scholarship selection committee and area dignitaries gathered for a pinning ceremony honoring five at-risk students.
The UL-Lafayette bound students have maintained impressive GPA’s despite facing great adversity. Like, extreme poverty, homelessness or the loss of parents.
News of Armentor’s program is spreading. He’s been asked to address the National Trial Lawyer Association and American Association for Justice. A group that named his program #2 in the country.
Armentor: “There are a lot of law firms inquiring all across the country about idea of forming their own scholarship programs and taking care of at risk kids in their communities and in their states.”
The students receive $10,000 scholarships each. They are mentored thru graduation day and given career placement assistance when they graduate.
