After three months of investigating the intentionally set fire at Himbola Apartments, Lafayette Fire Department arson investigators arrested 28 year old Johnathion R. Tizeno of Lafayette, LA.  Tizeno, in jail for unrelated charges, was arrested Thursday and charged with Simple Arson. Police say Tizeno allegedly entered the apartment complex office building in the early morning hours and set fire to combustibles inside the office.

Investigators believe the fire was in retaliation against the management of the complex after Tizeno had been banned from the property prior to the fire.

A $100,000 bond was set.

The investigation is ongoing to determine if others assisted him. Arson investigators are encouraging anyone with information to contact the Lafayette Fire Department at 291-8716 or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
