UPDATE: An arrest has been made in the case of an attempted kidnapping of a 8 year old New Iberia girl. Sheriff Louis Ackal advises that Juvenile Detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff”s Office arrested Montana Doice, of Jeanerette, LA for attempted simple kidnapping on Sunday, March 22, 2015. Detectives believe Doice is responsible for the attempted kidnapping that occurred on Saturday evening at the 600 Block of Bayard St. Detectives were able to locate the suspects vehicle after receiving numerous tips called in from the public. Doice was then taken into custody for further questioning, and is currently being held in the Iberia Parish Jail.

New Iberia police are looking for help in finding a man who reportedly tried to kidnap a young girl.
Investigators said the attempted abduction happened Saturday evening in the 600 Block of Bayard Street when witnesses advised that a male suspect attempt to abduct an 8 year old.
The driver is described as an Hispanic male, early 20’s and clean shaven. Police say the child ran away.
Police say the vehicle he was driving was an older model white truck with heavy damage on the drivers side.
