A Berwick man is dead and two others are injured as a result of a car crash in New Mexico.
The wreck happened shortly before 12:30 in the morning on I-10, east of Deming, New Mexico. According to New Mexico state police, a car driven by Charles Preece (26), of Berwick, was heading eastbound on the interstate when it struck a guardrail. The vehicle flipped and came to a rest on its top.
Investigators say Chace Rebardi, also of Berwick, was a passenger in the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Preece and another passenger, Robert Toups, of Morgan City, were transported to hospitals.
Authorities say none of them were wearing seatbelts.
