The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the body of a fetus found in a sewerage system.

Sheriff Doug Anderson said the body was in the sewer system in the town of Moreauville. He says workers at the sewer plant found the body Monday afternoon.

Anderson says the Avoyelles Parish coroner found the body weighed about two pounds and is believed to be female.
