Brooke joined the Live Doppler 10 Storm Tracker weather team in July 2015. You can catch her forecasting and anchoring the weather Saturday and Sunday mornings on Passe Partout and then again on Saturday and Sunday Evenings and 10pm. During the week days you will see her out in the field reporting too.

Brooke was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Her first hurricane was Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and since then has been fascinated with hurricanes, tropical storms, and the weather.

Brooke received her Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Florida State University.

She also has a minor in mathematics and a minor in communications. She is passionate about science, physics, and math. She had the opportunity to intern in the weather departments of WTXL and WCTV in Tallahassee, Florida during her final two years at FSU.

Brooke’s first meteorologist job away from Florida took her to the Delmarva Peninsula where she experienced temperatures in the negatives and also forecasting winter weather like snow, sleet, and freezing rain.

Brooke is happy to call Lafayette her home and to be living in a warmer environment. She is excited to be in South Louisiana and indulge in the Acadiana Culture and spicy foods.

She loves to be active and outdoors and you will probably see her running or walking her chihuahua named Zero. She enjoys music festivals, exploring and traveling all over.

She would love to hear from you. If you have a story idea you would like to share, please send an email to bsilverang@klfy.com
