According to our partners at the Daily Advertiser, Cajun Sno is just days away from reopening after a January fire shut down the popular snowball stand.

The new, larger building was said to be ready to go over the weekend. The owner, Robin Chevalier, said she expects to open this week.

The snowball stand has been closed since a January 15th fire destroyed the former building.

It’s taken longer than Chevalier hoped to get the new building ready, mainly because of new building code requirements.

The beloved snowball stand opened 27 years ago in its present location and is known for offering fluffy, shaved ice snowballs covered in flavored syrup, along with concession stand foods like hot dogs, nachos, and tamales.

The snowball stand will have the same walk-up and drive-thru setup, hours of operation, and food and drink options as before.

We will keep you updated on the upcoming opening of Cajun Sno.
