COLUMBIA, SC – The historic and torrential rains that have hit South Carolina have caused the university of South Carolina to cancel classes for the week and could cause the Tigers game with the Gamecocks to be moved.
According to Athletic Director Ray Tanner, any decision would be made in the next 24-36 hours.
Kickoff is set for Saturday at Williams-Brice stadium in Columbia. The school says the stadium is in good condition, but the concern is for fan safety as there is a problem with fresh water in the state following water main breaks.
Flooding and the cleanup are also continuing.
If the game is moved, Tiger Stadium could be a destination. LSU has not commented on the situation yet.
