BUTTE LAROSE, La. (KLFY)— St. Martin Parish sheriff’s deputies have identified Gary Brackett Jr., 28, of Carencro as a person of interest in the death of a Butte LaRose man.

Richard Hanson, 68, was found deceased inside his residence on Tuesday, shortly after 6 p.m. after a friend found him, authorities said.

Major Ginny Higgins said deputies are attempting to locate Bracket to question him in connection with the case.

Higgins said he may be accompanied by his girlfriend, who has been identified as Jamie Lee Smith, 35, of Breaux Bridge.
