A crash took place where state police worked a single vehicle crash on LA 88 near New Corner Road early Saturday evening.
A ford F-150 was traveling eastbound on LA 88 and struck a silver BMW parked on the shoulder. After impact, the ford continued to travel east, driving off of the road and across a ditch. The ford truck struck a utility pole and the driver, not wearing a seatbelt was ejected. The unidentified driver of the ford pronounced dead on scene.
After the crash the silver BMW left the scene, but troopers believe it should have damage to the front of the vehicle. It is unknown if impairment was a factor in the crash.
Troopers are continuing the investigation and urge anyone with further information regarding this incident to contact Troop I at 337-262-5880.
