Residents may experience a noticeable drop in water levels in the Bayou Teche.

Cecil Knott, Supervisor of the Teche Vermilion Pumping Station, says there’s no need for concern. He says the Army Corps of Engineers shut off the Teche-Vermillion Pumping Station to lower water levels in Bayou Courtableau, which feeds into Bayou Teche, in order to work on the Darbonne Control Structure.

The work should be complete in a few days and pumping will resume as soon as the work is complete.
