The town of Erath is in mourning after the tragic loss of a local teen. The community is now coming together to show their support for the family.
Saturday the Vermilion Parish Sheriffs Office found the body of a young boy in a canal in the town of Erath. After hearing of this shocking tragedy some members of the community send their condolences to the family.
“I’m sorry for the lose and I’ll keep y’all in our prayers. The community stands behind y’all.”” Said Myra Toupes.
The eighteen year old and his cousin were fishing Saturday when the boy fell into the canal. That evening the boy was pronounced deceased by the corner’s office.
Fellow classmate, Monica Herrington says Brett would do anything for anyone in need
“He was a nice person. He’d give you the shirt off his back. We were really close when I went to school. We would always talk about our problems, he was the sweetest guy. There wasn’t nothing wrong with him.”” Said Herrington.
Many members of the community say a lose like this is hard to handle and they are keeping the Dyson family in their prayers.
“I just want to wish the family prayers.”” Said Herrington.
