UPDATE: All southbound lanes are now open.

The Lafayette Police Department currently has all southbound lanes of travel closed on the Evangeline Thruway between Surrey Street and East Kaliste Saloom Rd. due to hydraulic fluid on the roadway.

Traffic is being diverted until work crews can clean up the spill.

All motorist should avoid this area.
