BREAKING NEWS:

A house fire turned deadly, Thursday evening.  Flames erupted at a home in the 200 Block of Carl Drive, north of Opelousas.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Officials says one person is dead as a result of the fire.  The cause of the blaze is still under investigation, and the identity of the person in the home is still unknown.

Two firefighters working the fatal house fire were sent to the hospital according to Fire Officials on the scene.
