The Internal Revenue Service says they will not be conducting as many audits as they have in year’s past.

The main reason is that the IRS is working on a budget that is 17% below what is was 5 years ago. Roughly 200 thousand fewer audits will be performed in 2015.

However, the agency will still take a close look at roughly 1 million returns. IRS commissioners still warn that cheating is not a good idea.
