A Frank’s International facility in Youngsville suffered significant damage after a fire broke out late Wednesday night.

The Blaze started just after 8 p.m. Wednesday night.

Alton Trahan, the Public Information Officer for the Lafayette Fire Department tells KLFY’s Kellie Brown that no one was injured in the fire and only one person was on the premises.

The area, he says is about 600 square feet and the fire had started to spread just before firefighters arrived.

“It started to, there’s a lot of solvents that they use for the business inside, as well as combustibles. So the fire spread kind of spread quickly actually,” Said Trahan,

“It took a good while to put it out, like something, something inside or maybe the metal was just very hot and smoke continued for a good while after the fire went out.”

Randy Boudreaux who lives just across the street from the building says firemen stayed on the scene until after 1 a.m. the next morning.

Crews from seven fire departments in Lafayette Parish were all dispatched to the scene.

The cause of this fire has not been determined and it is still under investigation.
