CROWLEY, La. (KLFY) – Investigators with are trying to determine what caused a fire that destroyed a man’s home earlier this morning.

District Chief Robert Burke, of the Crowley Fire Department, said firefighters believe the fire started in the front of the house; possibly on the front porch or in the living room.

The fire was reported around 7:23 a.m. and crews had the fire contained by 9 a.m.

No one was injured during the fire. A man who at the home during the fire was able to get out safely due to a passing motorist.

Burke explained a the driver saw the blaze, pulled in front of the house and honked until the man came out.

The case remains under investigation.
