New information leads Eunice Police to two suspects who are believed to be responsible for the death of 22-year-old Akeem Ceasar.
22-year-old Phillip Lafleur and 21-year-old Candice Vidrine are wanted for Second Degree Murder in the death of Ceasar.

“Established probable cause believed that Phillip Lafleur is responsible for the death of Akeem Ceasar. Probable cause has also been established to believe that CandIce Vidrine participated in, or, at least, had knowledge of the murder.”
Eunice Chief of Police, Randy Fontenot says the pair was arrested in San Angelo Texas after leading police on a car chase and then fleeing on foot.
“Lafeur and Vidrine were in a stolen vehicle at the time and are both facing charges in Texas.”
Ceasar’s family was invited to join police for Friday’s announcement.
His Godmother, Jennifer Fontenot, says the family has peace knowing the suspects have been caught.
“I feel relieved and I feel like we are getting a little closure, we still have a long way to go. I thank god today that he gave a chance for Akeem to come into my life. God sits high and looks down low and we will get our closure to this.”
Angel Lewis, Ceasar’s sister says she is thankful for the support from the community.
“I thank everyone for being so supportive throughout all of this. We have been through so much he’s not going to be here with us anymore, but we are happy to find the people that did this to him because he did not deserve this, he really didn’t. He was a great, great person and we will never know why they did it, but God knows.”
Fontenot says this is still an ongoing investigation. If anyone has any information in connection to this case to please contact Eunice Police.
