In Opelousas four juveniles were arrested after robbing a man who was walking home from the store.
The incident happened at the intersection of Oak and Laurent Street at around 11:20 on Monday night. The victim said he was jumped by four young men, and was beaten and robbed of his groceries, money and cell phone. The suspects removed the victim’s shoes and threw them across the street then fled the scene. Police arrested all four suspects, three of them were seventeen and charged as adults the other was sixteen.
Mykelle Cary, D’onte Brown, and Travarius Mitchell were all charged with simple robbery among other charges.
The juvenile was also charged with simple robbery and curfew violation.
