RAYNE, La. (KLFY) – Funeral services have been announced for a 4-year-old boy who was allegedly murdered by his mother and her boyfriend last week.

Layden John Gabriel, of Rayne, died on April 6, 2016, at the Women & Children’s Hospital in Lafayette after being transported from Kaplan Memorial Hospital.

Samantha Babineaux, 24, and her live-in boyfriend Nathaniel Trahan, 23 currently face first-degree murder charges for Gabriel’s death.

Visitation for Layden John Gabriel will be held on April 14, 2016, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Cunningham Methodist Church in Rayne.

Funeral Services conducted under the leadership of Pastor Louis Curry Sr. will be held at 11 a.m. at the church.

Evins, Larry & Perry Family Funeral Home have been entrusted with the funeral services for Gabriel.
