The Glenn Armentor Pay it Forward Scholarship of Excellence Award is given to at risk students and the award begins with Armentor, once at risk himself.
Prominent Lafayette Attorney Glenn Armentor knows the struggles life can bring through choices or circumstances beyond someone’s control.
A child of poverty and a teen who made choices that landed him in and out of jail, Armentor made a decision that would change his life but he did not do it alone. Mentors and people who cared helped him along the way and now he’s paying it forward by awarding $10,000 scholarships to high school seniors. To date Armentor’s office has given $225,000 in scholarships between UL Lafayette, SLCC, & LSU Law School. A selection committee comprised of community leaders, UL Lafayette advisors, Glenn and his wife Dana choose among hundreds of applicants.
Armentor’s goal is to help at-risk students achieve in life despite the obstacles. This project has spread with other professionals starting their own pay it forward programs.
