YOUNGSVILLE, La. (KLFY) – Three men have been arrested for allegedly breaking into a home and allegedly shooting at the homeowner, according to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Captain John Babin said the suspects have been charged with attempted second-degree murder in addition to aggravated burglary.

The incident happened around 4:25 this morning in the 300 block of Austin Road, just outside the city limits of Youngsville.

Babin said the suspects, Jace Breaux, 22, Chaz Louviere, 23, and Jacob Collett, 33, allegedly broke into the house while the owner was asleep.

One suspect fired several shots inside the home, according to Babin. The homeowner returned fire and hit one of the suspects.

The suspects then left the scene and went to a local hospital, where they were later found by deputies.

Babin did not know the extent of the suspect’s injuries but did say the hospital cleared the suspect for incarceration.

Breaux, Louviere, and Collett were all arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on Tuesday.
