On April 3, 2015, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Officers with the Broussard Police Department conducted an investigative stop on a vehicle on Broadview Drive, after discovering another vehicle was burglarized in the Sundown subdivision, on Longleaf Drive. The victim later reported his wallet taken from the vehicle. There were four (4) occupants inside the vehicle that officers stopped. The occupants were identified as Donavon Robertson B/M (22 yoa), Lawrence Hunter B/M (17 yoa) and two juveniles. All of the occupants were from Lafayette, LA.
During the investigation, Officers observed illegal pills in plain view, inside the suspect vehicle. Officers were able to search the vehicle. During this search, Officers located five (5) handguns, illegal pills, and stolen property. The stolen wallet was not located inside the vehicle. Investigators and Broussard’s newest addition to the force K-9 Sill searched the area diligently for the wallet but were unsuccessful in locating it.
All four (4) subjects were detained and transported to BPD for questioning. During questioning, Investigators discovered the subjects detained had committed the vehicle burglary on Longleaf Drive, within Sundown subdivision. Once the investigation was completed, the two (2) juvenile subjects were released.
Officers seized property located inside of the suspect vehicle as evidence including an iPhone 5, whic was reported stolen from the Breaux Bridge area of St. Martin Parish.
Robertson and Hunter were placed under arrest and charged with the following charges:

La.R.S. 14:69 Possession of Stolen Property

La.R.S. 40:969 Possession of Schedule IV CDS (Carisoprodol)
