Koryn Hawthorne of Abbeville is still alive on “The Voice.” Hawthorne had advanced to the Top 10 of the singing competition, thanks to public voting.
On Monday’s show, Hawthorne sang Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” to an enthusiastic studio audience. Public voting opened after the program and stayed open until Tuesday morning. Singers with the top10 vote totals would advance.
Midway through Tuesday’s live, one-hour results program, Hawthorne’s successful fate was revealed. She joins Sawyer Fredericks on a team coached by producer and pop artist Pharrell Williams.
Singers Mia Z and Brian Johnson were eliminated.
Next week, the remaining singers will continue to work with their celebrity coaches. But renowned producers will assist coaches, a cast that includes Dave Stewart (coach Adam Levine), Ryan Tedder (Williams), Mark Ronson (coach Christina Aguilera) and Scott Hendricks (coach Blake Shelton).
“The Voice” continues at 7 p.m. Monday. Two more artists will be eliminated Tuesday.
