Judge David Glickler (DPS mugshot)

HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A Hays County judge was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated along Interstate 35, just north of Kyle.

The judge arrested for drunk driving has waived his right to a jury trial.

David Glicker’s attorney says they are working to get the case resolved.

On May 26, 2015, the judge was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated along Interstate 35. At the time, Glicker said:

Last night, after attending a concert with my wife in Austin, I was stopped and arrested for driving while intoxicated,” said Glickner in a statement. “While it is very early in the process, I know that I was not intoxicated last evening, and look forward to the opportunity to clear my name in court. Nonetheless, I do recognize that I have placed myself in an unfortunate circumstance, and I hope the citizens of Hays County will see past this incident and examine the work I have been and will continue to do in the Courts of Hays County.”

According to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy pulled David Glickler, 46, over around 11:30 p.m. and conducted a roadside investigation and interviewed Glickler. Glickler was arrested based on the officer’s probable cause suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated, a Class B Misdemeanor.

Glickler currently serves as Judge, County Court at Law #2 in Hays County.
