Interstate 10 eastbound at Interstate 49 in Lafayette Parish is shut down due to a major traffic crash near mile marker 133 and 134.

According to Louisiana State Police Master Trooper Brooks David, the closure could last several hours due to the severity of the crash.

David says traffic is being re-routed down I-49 north to Highway 190.

All other details surrounding the crash have not been released.
