JEFFERSON DAVIS PARISH, La. – A Jennings man is accused of selling phony crack cocaine, according to the sheriff’s office.

Commander Christopher Ivey said the charge stems from Dustin Pete, 23, allegedly selling the bogus narcotic to an undercover officer in March 2015.

A crime lab test confirmed the crack did not contain any cocaine, according to Ivey.

Pete is currently at the Jackson Parish Correctional Center in Jonesboro, La. on unrelated charges.

He was transported to Jefferson Davis Parish this morning to appear in court for the charge of Distribution of False Controlled Dangerous Substances.

Pete will return to Jennings for additional court dates that have not yet been released.
