During the morning hours not much action took place inside the actual court room; what was happening was the presiding judge over the case, Judge Edward Rubin along with the Assistant District Attorney J Prather and defense attorney Thomas Guilbeau, interviewed each of the 20 potential jury members one on one.

On Wednesday afternoon,12 jury members were selected along with two alternates. Then opening statements took place by both the defendant and the prosecutor. The prosecutor presented the state’s case hoping to prove that the victims did not actually leave the truck, and he says he has evidence to prove just that, among many other things. Several witnesses are going to present facts behind that information. The defense plans to prove that the defendant did heard someone pulling on the door handles of his truck, as well as he saw two people near it.

Trial will begin Thursday morning at 9:15 at the Lafayette Parish Courthouse.
