The Lafayette Parish Public Library invites you to the grand reopening and relaunch of the Main Library, located at 301 W. Congress Street, on Monday, July 6, 2015 starting at 9:30 a.m. The free celebration will include entertainment and activities for all ages.
There will be a flag raising outside the entrance of the building at 9:30 a.m., with the program and ribbon cutting starting at 10 a.m. A second ribbon cutting will take place inside at the entrance to the new Children’s Section following the outside ceremony.
Tours and story times will take place between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and refreshments will be provided. Please note that no regular library services (checkouts, public computers, etc.) will be available on this day. The library will open for regular business starting Tuesday, July 7 at 8:30 a.m. with regular hours for the Main Library as follows:
Monday – Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday: 12 – 6 p.m.
The Jefferson Street Branch of the Lafayette Public Library will remain open through Thursday, July 2, with limited hours and services July 1-2. All Lafayette Public Library locations will be closed July 3 and 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
