The south regional branch of the Lafayette Public Library kicked off Black History Month on Sunday with a special display.
A collection featuring dozens of baseball cards, bats and autographed balls from several minor and major league African American players collected over the years was laid out for the public to see. The memorabilia shows that the African American community has always been a big part of America’s past time of baseball.
The collection will be on display at the library for the rest of January.
