The Livingston Parish and Ascension Parish governments have announced the closing of waterways in their parishes.
The closures went into effect at 10 a.m. Saturday.
In Livingston Parish, all waterways will be closed.
Ascension Parish officials say the Amite River and the Diversion Canal will be closed.
Due rising water caused by south/southwest winds, the waterways will be closed to all recreational traffic until further notice.
